Located on the south-west shore of Lake Ontario, St. Catharines is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that lies at the foot of the Niagara Escarpment, a massive promontory stretching from Niagara to the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. It is close to the border with the United States and is just a few minutes drive from Niagara Falls, the Southern Ontario Wine Region, the Welland Canal, and hiking on the Niagara Escarpment.

St Catharines can be accessed from three major international airports: Toronto Pearson (80 minutes); Hamilton John C. Munro (50 minutes); and Buffalo Niagara (60 minutes). It is approximately 80 minutes from Toronto Billy Bishop regional airport.
